The Sparkle Girls had a blast today at our annual winter workshop! We made darling leopard winter fleece "pill box style" hats with handmade denim flowers and a bit of "bling" in the center. We also embellished coordinating bright red gloves with rolled flowers. Our afternoon was complete with hot chocolate and cookies. Hurray for these awesome, talented girls!

Last TWEEN Workshop!
Day two of our TWEEN art camp workshop was busy busy!!
We had a fun day finishing our incredible art books! We started our board book first. I surprised the girls with Disney Princess Board Books. After reading them for fun...we had some fun with them! We took the time to work on each page, making special little pockets and tabs. Our handmade flower corsages and painted initials really topped them off!
Secondly, we worked on our personalized monogrammed art composition books. We lined them first, making them soft and thick. We added a flower or two.
Finished board books...
We then made adorable tiny composition books! WOW! They turned out just darling!
I'm so proud of these young teens. The worked so hard, and had the best time getting to know each other!
These girls were fantastic!! Thank you TWEENS!!
Artfully yours,

TWEEN Art Workshop Begins!!!
Our very first TWEEN workshop started today! These young teens were more than eager to get started on their projects!
Originally, we were planning on building one art book that can be a place for photos and mementos. Instead we're making several books! Our first book was made from scratch using the art dolls created by Julie Nutting. We made front and back covers and inside pages. We added fun strips of fabric and tied them on two rings. They turned out adorable!
We continued by creating beautiful handmade corsages. We made our own flowers out of fabric and then added a variety of fabric strips. We made them into pins so that we could wear them or put them on or fabric books tomorrow!
We ended the day making a stamped fabric "hanger." We decided a sequin strip would be a perfect finishing touch!
We enjoyed tea sandwiches, chips and mini cookies today!
Tomorrow we will make our fabric book, composition book and mini book! Can't wait!

A Fabulous Friday!
What an incredible art week! Girls loving arts and crafts while building a high self esteem is my goal! Old friends reunited. New friends were made. We had the best Mrs. Mitrani's Art Camp EVER!
Thank you Mary Grace, Allie and Grace for making this week so special!
Here's one journal entry I ran across today. WOW!!
Our theme of "PJ Party" was a huge success. Today as I watched the girls come in with their PJ night shirts and/or PJ bottoms, along with their cute head bands, I knew the day would be one to remember!
Today both sessions did some pottery "painting," with the new Sharpie Oil Based Glass/Pottery paints. I baked all of the items at 375 for 30 minutes. They should all be dishwasher/hand wash safe. Morning girls decorated amazing popcorn bowls. These took some time because they were huge bowls! Afternoon girls embellished hot cocoa mugs. I stressed using small details, and taking time to really make the item pop!
Morning girls made a small collage using vintage style postal stickers. We also worked on our new fancy font writing.
Afternoon girls made a small collage assemblage in a tin box. We used fabric and paper. We also made a letter banner with a favorite word.
We had a great time making group photos! I hope the girls will use what they learned this summer to make other amazing projects. Please take a peek at their art journals. They're full of sketches, ideas and instructions to projects. I really enjoyed flipping through these!
Our Friday PJ Paty included yummy snacks!!
I had such a fabulous time this summer with your girls. Thank you for letting my art camp be a part of their busy summer! Hugs to all!
