Sewing Through Wednesday!

What a great group of creative seamstresses! I was beyond impressed with the sewing skills of the morning and afternoon sessions. Morning girls made adorable beach tops and afternoon girls made summer skirts. PLEASE wash these creations by hand for longest lasting results. The girls were SO proud of their garments!

In addition, we assembled paper piecing, made gem bookmarks, and worked on our embroidery, sketching, and jean art.

We laughed and really got to know each other today!

Had a BLAST on Tuesday!

We really squeezed in a lot of FUN today! Morning session girls started off with their sketch books, learning how to draw amazing mermaids. We finished our shaving cream dyed shirts and then added a fun streamer of color. The shirts can be washed in the washing machine, and dried. (The streamers need to be taken off before washing.) We then started our "treasures on the beach" jewelry making. We ended the day making our very own bath "bombs." The balls will "explode" in the bathtub. I can't wait to hear about this one!

Afternoon session girls hand stenciled on their jeans. They then added colorful embroidery to their mermaid sampler using wooden hoops. We made fabulous gems using sea glass beads and stones. Lastly, we gathered for a crafty experiment, making relaxing beach-style bath salts. The girls can wait to have a spa day at home! That was a lot of fun!!

Day ONE was a HIT!

Hurray! The first day of Mrs. Mitrani's Art Camp for girls was a HUGE success! Our adventure has begun!

Our first session girls had a great time making nametags, drawing and designing our "upcycled" jeans, sewing darling purses, AND using a shaving cream dye technique on T-shirts! Wow!

Second session girls went right to work on mermaid tail nametags, designing and continuing our "upcycled" jeans, painting and designing beach hats, AND mermaid embroidery hoop work. COOL!

Are you READY to start the FUN?

Just a few days until our fifth annual Mrs. Mitrani's Art Camp for Girls starts!
Our first day will be filled with exciting crafts.

We'll start the day with introductions and favorite arts/crafts, and meet our sweet assistants Emily and Grace.

We will introduce our materials and art supplies, and hand out our mermaid/sea life sketch pads.

Session One: Name Tags, Felt Mermaid Purses, Faded Dye Tees
Session Two: Name Tags, Painted Jeans, Beach Hats with Flowers

Starting Soon!

Hurray! All camps and workshops are full and ready to begin! This summer will be filled with incredible projects to cherish. We will be working with many mediums this year, from needlework to cactus soil! Fun!

Sessions one and two will need to bring one pair of faded denim shorts, skirt, or jeans on the first day. We have a very special project we will be starting! Please put your child's name on the inside tag.

Please have your child dress comfortably each day.

Have a great last two weeks of school, and I'll see you on Monday, June 10th!
