Three Cheers for a FUN Thursday!

Today was our SPA day! We also had a few "little sisters" join in on the fun. They loved every minute of our projects!

Both sessions made refreshing all natural face masks made from fresh fruits and vegetables. We had so much fun trying our new product out!! Next we made soothing hand and foot scrub. Morning girls made a salt scrub and afternoon made a sugar scrub. Both were huge hits!
We then decorated the spa scrub containers.

We finished our morning night Tshirts and afternoon PJ pants! HURRAY! The girls are so proud of them!

Please have your daughters wear their handmade items tomorrow for our PJ Party!! We will be snacking on Marshmallow Candy Bar (morning) and S'mores (afternoon).

For those staying all day tomorrow, the menu will be:

Wow! It's Already Wednesday?

Our Art Adventure is already half over! We've explored so many different art techniques already!

Morning girls continued working on their water mark transfer night shirts. Today we dipped them in dye and watched magic happen! We then had to lay them flat to dry overnight. They look spectacular!

We then started decorating our clip boards. We used printed paper, sticker letters, dictionary paper and chalk board paint. The clips are mini chalk boards! We then had a lesson on making burlap flowers and put them on our boards.

Lastly, we wrote in our daily art journals. We practiced our fancy lettering! We had a great time!

Afternoon girls started preparing their "All About Me" canvases using Mod Podge, printed paper and beautiful paints. We did a cool art technique that showed how to use "negative space" on a canvas. It was a lot of fun!

We're almost finished with our PJ bottoms! We cut, sewed and pulled elastic today. The fabrics they chose really showed off their bright and cheerful personalities! We'll do our finishing touches tomorrow. Pictures will be taken on Friday.

We finished off the day writing in our art journals. We found key art words and wrote them in our new fancy font!

I can't wait until tomorrow's fun!

Day Two! Sew and Glue!

We started off like lightening today!

Morning girls created darling PJ night shirts using a very unique water resist technique. The shirts needed to dry overnight, so the fun will continue tomorrow! We also machine stitched lavender sachets for our drawers at home. Lastly, we made floral pillow cases and stuffed them. We added a personal touch by making our own monograms out of felt.

Afternoon friends enjoyed starting their PJ cropped pants, to be continued tomorrow.  We also made two wooden charms using our Artsy Chick stamps by Kecia Deveney of Lemoncholy Studio. We used water color pencils to make them pop! We ended our workshop making a fabric circle flower from scratch. We glued it on a belt/scarf. We'll be making more of these!

Both sessions had fun with precious Julie Nutting's collage dolls.They created mix and match clothing for them. Both also worked on their daily art journals, writing about today's art techniques, new words, and sketches of projects.

We'll be finishing our big projects tomorrow! I can't wait!

First Day Fun!

Happy Monday!!

On our first day of  art camp we learned about each other by talking about what we like in the art world! We heard everything from drawing to sewing!

The morning girls made their name tag necklaces, using bees wax! The stamps we used on the tags were from the Atsy Chick collection by Lemoncholy Studio. They also started their composition books and made fancy lettering initials. In addition, sweet bird accents were used on top of darling graffiti pea pods. We used moss and floral foam. We had a blast!!

The afternoon girls started with their name tag necklaces, also using the Lemoncholy Studios Artsy Chick stamp collection. Felt flowers were introduced, and they were used on their composition books. We then made more felt flowers and added them to a strip of felt. We made darling "statement necklaces out of them!

Both sessions ended with "art talk." We discussed writing letters like artwork. A fun "Fancy Lettering" technique was introduced.

This year, both sessions will be writing in our composition books daily. We'll have materials, instructions, new words, etc. Some will write about how they enjoyed a project, etc.

I can't wait to see what day two brings!!

Tomorrow Starts our Art Adventure!

Hurray for Tomorrow! Here are a couple of sneak peeks! We'll be creating our art journals in the morning and afternoon sessions. We'll also make our ornate name tags. 

Morning girls will enjoy starting their "Bird in a Pot," using fabrics, trims, and beautiful white glittery birds.

Afternoon girls will start to decorate their unique clipboards today.

For those staying both sessions, our "tea party style" lunch will include:

Perfect Pasta and Cheese
Mini Carrots and Party Dip
Sweet Grapes
Watermelon Ice

Food is delivered to us each day. Chilled food items were purchased at HEB Central Market.
