First Day of Art Camp!

We had such a blast on the first day of Mrs. Mitrani's Art Camp 2011!
The morning session started off with some awesome applique needlework. After we got used to using a wooden hoop, our needles were busy at work. We also used the sewing machine to create a hand made denim purse! Lots of hard work here!







The afternoon was filled with paint and cute fairy tags. We painted art bags and added a fun fabric trim. We practiced graffiti writing, and then coated our bags with fun words. We later hung our tags on the bags. Cool!

It's Almost Time!!

Hello Girls!!
Are you all ready to start the fun? In just one week we will be together creating magical artwork!! Our teen friends Grace and Emily will be with us once again too. What will we be making our first day?????

We'll be starting with individual nametags made from cardstock. Your creative juices will flow when you see all the embellishments I have for you! We'll also start making our amazing craft bags. Session one will create using denim, and the afternoon will do graffiti with muslin. We'll get our sketch books and learn new ways of fashion design.

Snacks and Lemonade will be provided for both sessions. Those combining sessions will be dining with us.

Monday's Tea Lunch:
Chicken Bites with Pink Dipping Sauce
Velvet Mac and Cheese
Pretty Peaches
Moon Pie

Summer Camp UPDATE!

Hurray for Spring! It's the perfect time to enjoy the sunshine, and dream of SUMMER!! Speaking of summer...

Mrs. Mitrani's Art Camp for Girls will be here before you know it!
This year will be our BEST year yet! We'll be introducing new techniques, making incredible new projects, and adding to our individual creativity!

As of today, the afternoon session is completely full, and the morning session has only one spot left!

Parents of Campers:

Mrs. Mitrani's Art Camp 2011 Registration Information

It's time for Mrs. Mitrani's 3rd Annual Art Camp for Girls!

Did you see our art camp in the last issue of STUDIOS magazine? So exciting!

Registration for the 2011 camp will be starting Monday, March 14th.
Below are descriptions for each day of camp. If interested, please email me with desired session at mendytexasart@yahoo.com. I will then attach by email: a registration form, camp details, photo release, and payment form.

This year we'll be dabbling in ink, paint, sewing, stamps, fibers, wax, felt, fabric, and so much more!

Session One (grades 3-5):
June 20-24.....9:00 am-noon
$130 plus $25 art supply fee
Refreshments Included

Projects Include:
Appliqued Handmade Art Bag
Cupcake Collage
SweetheART Girls Hanger
Rosette Necklaces and Hair Accessories
Small Moments in My Life Scrapbook
Tussy Mussy Hangers
Bag of Hearts Group Swap

All Crazy Craft Tote

"All Me" canvas
Sweet "Inchies" Group Swap

Students may sign up for both sessions--Projects will be completely different.

Students signing up for both sessions may stay and enjoy a "tea-party" style lunch and short video from 12:00-1:00. $20 for the week. Please note that this is only offered for those going all day.

Camp fees are not refundable. Art supplies will be given on missed days.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2011 to all of my art friends!!

It's hard to believe, but our third art camp is now being organized!!

Please make a note that sessions one and two will be June 20-24, 2011.
Session One will be 9:00-noon
Session Two will be 1:00-4

There will be a "Tea-Party" style lunch for those going to both sessions only.

Official information will be sent out early March. Registration will start soon after.

We're Famous!!

Tea Party and Goodbye Hugs

Our week long art journey has come to an end...

We celebrated ALL day with a paper doll swap in the morning, and a friendship paper bag autograph swap in the afternoon.

Both sessions completed "Round Robins." Each child created something for everyone in class. We all traded at our end of camp party!

I have really enjoyed the two sessions of Art Camp. I am so impressed with the talent of these girls!! Thank you so much for allowing my camp to be a part of your child's summer.
